Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 2 (a condition that causes tumors to grow on nerves related to hearing and balance)
  • You are scheduled to have a tumor removed (either your first tumor removal or your second)
  • If this would be your first implant, you must have started having symptoms before the age of 40
  • If you already have an older, non-working hearing implant (placed during a previous tumor removal), you may be eligible to receive a newer multi-channel implant during your next surgery

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your primary language is not English
