Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with hereditary angioedema (HAE), confirmed through specific blood tests (C4 and C1 inhibitor levels) and/or a family history of the condition
  • You have Type I or Type II hereditary angioedema, identified through specific blood test results (confirm with trial site)
  • You may still be eligible even without a family history of HAE, as long as your blood test results meet the required levels and there is no sign of an acquired form of the condition
  • You have a history of HAE symptoms such as episodes of swelling, stomach pain, and/or breathing difficulties
  • You have had at least 1 to 2 HAE episodes within the past 6 weeks
  • If you are taking anabolic steroids, your dose has not changed in at least the last 30 days

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a significant history of blood, liver, kidney, heart, high blood pressure, or lung disease
  • You have taken aspirin, anti-inflammatory painkillers (like ibuprofen), blood thinners (like warfarin), or any other medication that affects blood clotting or platelets within the past week
  • You have any known reason why inhaled or injected heparin (a blood-thinning medication) would not be safe for you
  • You have a drug allergy that could interfere with the study
  • You have a significant history of cancer, diabetes, nerve disorders, immune system disorders, or bleeding disorders
  • You have a history of drug abuse, alcoholism, psychosis, or other serious mental health conditions
