Who may be able to join

"Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You must be able to understand and agree to participate by signing a consent form
  • People who have diabetic retinopathy (eye damage caused by diabetes) or age-related macular degeneration (a condition that affects central vision as people age) may be eligible
  • People who have blocked blood vessels in the eye, central serous retinopathy (fluid buildup under the retina), or rare or unknown retinal conditions may also be eligible

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are unable or unwilling to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study cannot join
  • People who are unwilling or unable to be seen and treated at the NEI Clinical Center regularly for at least the next 3 years cannot join
