Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Men, or women who have gone through menopause or have been surgically sterilized, between 18 and 75 years old
  • People who have type 2 diabetes and have been taking metformin at a stable dose for at least 3 months
  • People whose HbA1c blood sugar level (a measure of average blood sugar over time) was between 7.0% and 9.5% at the initial screening appointment
  • People whose weight has stayed roughly the same (within 10% up or down) for at least 3 months before screening

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have type 1 diabetes
  • People who have a significant stomach or digestive condition
  • People who have taken any diabetes medication other than metformin alone in the last 3 months
  • People who have used any weight-loss medications in the last 3 months
  • People who have high blood pressure that is not well controlled
  • People who have previously used GLP-1 or GLP-1 type medications (a certain class of diabetes treatment) (confirm with trial site if you are unsure whether a medication you have taken falls into this category)
