Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older, and if you are female, you must not be able to become pregnant.
- You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and have moderate-to-severe chronic kidney disease, based on a specific kidney function measurement (eGFR) between 25 and 59 mL/min/1.73m².
- Your urine tests have shown high levels of a protein called albumin leaking into your urine for more than 3 months (at a level of 300 mg/g or above).
Who may not be able to join:
- Your kidney disease is caused by type 1 diabetes, or your kidney disease is not related to diabetes at all.
- Your diabetes is not well controlled, meaning a blood test called HbA1c (which measures your average blood sugar over the past few months) shows a result above 9%.
- You are currently taking two types of blood pressure/kidney-protecting medicines together — specifically an ACE inhibitor and an ARB at the same time (confirm with trial site if you are unsure which medications you take).
