Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have a moderate to profound intellectual disability or developmental delay
  • You have a mild to moderate intellectual disability or developmental delay, AND more than one family member is affected, AND both parents are unaffected
  • You have a mild to moderate intellectual disability or developmental delay, AND you have at least 3 well-documented minor physical differences (such as unusual facial features or body characteristics)
  • You have one major physical abnormality present from birth, AND at least 3 well-documented minor physical differences
  • You have two or more major physical abnormalities affecting different parts of the body (for example, the heart and the kidneys)

Who may not be able to join:

  • There is reason to believe the condition was caused by something that happened before or during birth, such as an infection during pregnancy or exposure to harmful substances (like alcohol or certain medications) before birth
  • You have already had advanced genetic testing, such as a large gene panel test or a whole-exome analysis (a broad genetic sequencing test), carried out previously
