Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have ovarian cancer (or a related cancer called primary peritoneal cancer) that has come back after previous treatment, and the cancer did not respond well to platinum-based chemotherapy
  • Lab testing of your tumor tissue has shown a specific protein on the cancer cells called EGFR (also known as HER-1)
  • You have at least one tumor or affected area that doctors can measure using scans or imaging
  • Doctors expect you to live for at least 12 weeks or more
  • You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site what this level of activity means for you)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have previously received a type of treatment called monoclonal antibody therapy
  • You have previously received any treatment that specifically targeted the EGFR (HER-1) protein
  • You have cancer that has spread to your brain
  • You have a pre-existing skin condition that is moderate or severe (mild skin issues or hair loss are generally acceptable)
  • You currently have an active infection or a condition that weakens your immune system
  • You are currently infected with, or are a long-term carrier of, the Hepatitis B virus
  • You have been diagnosed with Hepatitis C disease
  • You have previously been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (a condition where your immune system attacks your own body)
  • You have a known allergy or serious reaction to any of the drugs used in this trial or their ingredients
  • You have received chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or taken part in another clinical trial involving an experimental drug within the last 30 days before joining
