Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with probable Alzheimer's disease (based on standard medical guidelines)
- Your Alzheimer's is considered mild to moderate, shown by a score of 16 to 26 on a standard memory and thinking test called the Mini-Mental Status Examination
- If you are already taking medication for Alzheimer's disease, you must have been on the same dose for at least 6 months before joining and stay on that same dose throughout the study
- You have a reliable caregiver and you live either at home in the community or in an assisted living facility
- Your first language is English, Spanish, or French, and you can read and speak it well
- You (or your legal representative) and your caregiver are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- Your memory or thinking problems are caused by something other than Alzheimer's disease
- You have serious health conditions in addition to Alzheimer's disease
- You have taken part in another medical research study involving an experimental drug in the last two months, or are currently doing so
