Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with cervical cancer at an early to moderately advanced stage (stage Ia2, Ib, or IIa)
  • You have been diagnosed with endometrial (womb) cancer at stage I (high risk) or stage II
  • You have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer at stage I, IIa, or IIb
  • You have been diagnosed with vulvar cancer at stage I or II
  • You are older than 18 years of age
  • You are well enough to carry out most daily activities without much difficulty (this is measured using a scoring system called the Karnofsky scale — confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are already eligible to take part in a separate clinical trial called PORTEC II
  • You have surgical metal clips in your brain, which would make having an MRI scan unsafe
  • You have a pacemaker (a small device implanted in your chest to help regulate your heartbeat), which would make having an MRI scan unsafe
  • You experience severe anxiety in enclosed spaces (claustrophobia), as the trial involves MRI scans
