Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with invasive ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or peritoneal cancer, confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy)
  • Your cancer is at a certain stage or type: either a more advanced stage (FIGO IIb–IV, any grade), an earlier stage but high-grade (FIGO Ia–IIa, grade 3 only), or a type called clear cell carcinoma (any stage or grade)
  • You are a suitable candidate to receive a standard chemotherapy combination of paclitaxel and carboplatin
  • You have a blood marker called CA125 at a level of 70 or above, and/or you have measurable cancer that can be tracked during treatment
  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • Both of your parents and all four of your grandparents are of Caucasian (white European) background
  • You are well enough to carry out basic daily activities, based on a standard health scoring system (WHO/ECOG performance status of 2 or lower)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have had a previous cancer diagnosis, unless it was an early-stage cervical cancer (carcinoma in situ) or a common type of skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma)
  • You have previously received chemotherapy or radiotherapy
  • You are currently receiving or are about to start another chemotherapy treatment
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are a woman who could become pregnant but are not willing to use reliable contraception during the trial
  • You have nerve-related symptoms (such as numbness or tingling) that are more than very mild (worse than CTCAE grade 1) (confirm with trial site)
  • You have an active infection or another serious health condition that could affect your treatment or ability to be monitored during the trial
