Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been experiencing a major depressive episode that has lasted at least 3 months
- Your depression is moderate to severe in intensity
Who may not be able to join:
- You currently have a primary mental health diagnosis other than major depressive disorder (confirm with trial site)
- You have a current or past history of manic or hypomanic episodes, schizophrenia, any psychotic disorder, depression with psychotic features, intellectual disability, or a mental health condition caused by a medical illness
- Your depression has not responded to two separate courses of antidepressant medication, each lasting at least 6 weeks
- You have had electroconvulsive therapy (ECT, sometimes called "shock therapy") within the 6 months before the study begins
- You are currently receiving formal talking therapy (such as cognitive behavioural therapy) or plan to start such therapy during the study
- You have a significant unstable physical health condition, such as serious liver, kidney, heart, lung, digestive, hormonal, neurological, infectious, cancer-related, or metabolic problems (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
