Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed (confirmed by lab testing of tissue) with ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer
- Your cancer is at stage IIB, IIC, III, or IV
- You have had surgery to remove as much of the cancer as possible within the past 12 weeks, and tissue samples from that surgery are available for testing
- Your cancer is one of several specific types, including serous, endometrioid, mucinous, clear cell, mixed, transitional cell, carcinosarcoma, or several other related types (confirm with trial site if unsure of your type)
- You are well enough to carry out light daily activities — you do not need to be fully active but should not be completely bedridden (a score of 0, 1, or 2 on a standard health scale)
- Your blood cell counts and organ function (kidneys, liver) are within acceptable ranges based on recent blood tests
- You have a negative pregnancy test, are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and are using effective birth control if you could become pregnant
Who may not be able to join:
- Your ovarian cancer is a "borderline" (low malignant potential) type
- You have a current or previous diagnosis of uterine (endometrial) cancer, unless it was caught very early, had not spread deeply, and was not an aggressive type (confirm with trial site)
- You have a serious active infection, severe malnutrition needing IV feeding, active hepatitis, or another major illness that could interfere with treatment
- You have active bleeding
- You have had an allergic reaction in the past to a substance called polysorbate 80, which is found in some products like etoposide or vitamin E supplements
- You have had another type of invasive cancer within the past 5 years (some skin cancers may be excepted — confirm with trial site)
- You have had unstable chest pain (angina) or a heart attack within the past 6 months
- You have previously received any chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or hormone therapy for your ovarian or peritoneal cancer
- You have previously received any targeted cancer treatments (such as vaccines, antibody therapies, or certain newer drugs) for your ovarian or peritoneal cancer
