Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured (larger than 1 cm) on a CT or MRI scan, and that tumor has not already been treated with surgery or radiation therapy.
- You are scheduled to start treatment with a drug called bevacizumab (with or without chemotherapy) within 14 days of signing the consent form, or you are already on an approved research treatment plan for returning ovarian cancer that includes bevacizumab.
- You have been diagnosed with a confirmed type of ovarian cancer, including cancers that started in the peritoneum (lining of the abdomen) or fallopian tubes.
- If you are able to become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy blood test before joining and must be using an effective form of birth control.
- You are older than 21 years of age.
- You are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- You are taking part in another approved research study where you might be receiving either bevacizumab or a placebo (dummy treatment) without knowing which one (specific studies IRB 07-078 and IRB 05-138).
- You have a cardiac pacemaker (a device implanted in your chest to help control your heartbeat).
- You have certain artificial devices or implants in your body that are not safe to use near the strong magnetic field of an MRI scanner (confirm with trial site).
- You have had a bad reaction in the past to the contrast dye (called gadolinium) used in MRI scans, or you do not meet certain kidney health guidelines required for receiving this dye (confirm with trial site).
- You experience claustrophobia (fear of being in enclosed spaces, such as an MRI machine).
- You are currently on dialysis (a treatment that does the work of your kidneys).

Development of automated motion correction algorithms and new functional methods that permit use of DCE-MRI in primary or metastatic tumors of the ovaries.
