Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), meaning you have fewer than 9 periods per year AND signs of higher-than-normal male hormones (such as excess body hair, acne, or thinning hair on the scalp, or abnormal hormone levels on a blood test)
- You are between 18 and 40 years old
Who may not be able to join:
- You are younger than 18 or older than 40 years old
- You are not of white/Caucasian ethnic background
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or currently trying to get pregnant
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) — a measure of weight relative to height — is below 18 or above 50 (confirm with trial site)
- You have had a recent illness or have an ongoing long-term health condition that could affect the results
- You are currently taking certain medications, including hormonal contraceptives (such as the pill), blood pressure medications, cholesterol-lowering drugs, blood-thinning medications, or anti-inflammatory medicines
- You are currently taking any vitamin, mineral, or other nutritional supplements
- You eat more than 2 portions of oily fish (such as salmon, mackerel, or sardines) per week
