Completed Phase 2

Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You must be at least 1 year old
  • You must have a type of tumor (not a carcinoma) in the abdomen or the space behind the abdomen, such as desmoplastic round cell tumor, ovarian germ cell tumor, sarcoma, Wilms' tumor, or a similar tumor, confirmed by a tissue sample or genetic test
  • Scans must show that the tumor is only located within the abdominal area and has not spread elsewhere
  • Scans or a previous surgery must suggest that most of the tumor can be surgically removed, leaving no pieces larger than 1 cm thick
  • Your doctor must expect you to live for at least 6 weeks or more
  • You must be healthy enough to undergo surgery, with no serious conditions such as severe infection, liver failure, or pregnancy
  • You must be fully alert and aware of who you are, where you are, and what time it is, as assessed by your doctor
  • Your kidneys must be working well enough, shown by acceptable blood test results for kidney function
  • Your blood counts must meet minimum levels — specifically your white blood cells, infection-fighting cells (neutrophils), and platelets must all be within acceptable ranges
  • Your liver function blood test results must be no more than twice the normal upper limit
  • You must have recovered from any side effects of previous cancer treatments, and it must be at least 14 days since your last treatment

Who may not be able to join:

  • You may not be eligible if you have a heart or lung condition that would make major surgery too risky
  • You may not be eligible if your cancer has spread outside the abdominal area and is not under control
  • You may not be eligible if you already have significant nerve damage or nerve-related symptoms at a serious level (confirm with trial site)
  • You may not be eligible if you have previously received a platinum-based treatment delivered directly into the abdomen and it did not work
  • You may not be eligible if your specific diagnosis is retroperitoneal liposarcoma (a type of fatty tissue tumor behind the abdomen)

Important: Always verify eligibility with the trial site directly before applying.

Based on publicly available eligibility criteria from ClinicalTrials.gov. Verify directly with the trial site before acting. This is not medical advice.
