Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You must be willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
  • You must be between 18 and 85 years old
  • You must be able to understand what the trial involves and what it means for you personally
  • You must be scheduled to have a colonoscopy (a procedure to examine the inside of your bowel)
  • You must have already been diagnosed with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis

Who may not be able to join:

  • You cannot join if you are unable to sign or give written consent to participate
  • You cannot join if you have a serious blood clotting problem (confirm with trial site)
  • You cannot join if your kidneys are not working well enough, based on a blood test result (confirm with trial site)
  • You cannot join if you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You cannot join if you are currently experiencing active bleeding in your digestive system
  • You cannot join if you have a known allergy to methylene blue or toluidine blue (two types of dye)
  • You cannot join if you are currently living in an institution such as a prison
