Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are currently taking a medication called mesalamine, and you are willing to switch to a different brand of it for 4 months (or you are already taking the brand called Asacol or Asacol HD).
- You have not taken any steroid medications in the last 3 months.
- You are able to travel to MGH hospital for a total of 6 visits.
Who may not be able to join:
- You are not currently taking mesalamine, or you are not willing to switch to a different brand of it for 4 months.
- You are currently taking steroid medications, or you have taken them at any point in the last 3 months.
- You are unable to attend 6 visits at MGH hospital.
- You have had a vasectomy, or it has been medically confirmed that you are infertile.
