Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have given your written agreement to take part before any trial procedures begin
- You have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (a serious form of depression) according to a standard set of medical guidelines called DSM-IV-TR
- You score at least 20 out of a possible 52 on a standard depression rating scale called the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD-17), measured at two separate visits (this scale is used by doctors to measure how severe depression symptoms are)
Who may not be able to join:
- You do not meet the standard medical guidelines (DSM-IV-TR) for a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder
