Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are at least 18 years old (male or female)
  • You have been diagnosed with a specific type of lung cancer called non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) at an advanced stage (stage IIIb or IV), confirmed by a lab test on a tissue or cell sample
  • Your lung cancer has come back or gotten worse during or after receiving a standard first chemotherapy treatment that included a platinum-based drug
  • If your cancer has certain genetic changes (EGFR mutations or ALK translocations), you should have already received the appropriate targeted treatment for those before joining
  • You are generally able to carry out daily activities with no or only minor limitations (as measured by a standard medical scale)
  • Your blood, kidney, and liver are functioning well enough as shown by recent lab tests

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your lung cancer is of a different type, such as squamous cell, small cell, carcinoid, adenosquamous, large-cell neuroendocrine, or a mixed type containing small-cell or squamous-cell components
  • You have a known history of a bleeding disorder, such as von Willebrand disease or hemophilia
  • Your tumor has hollow cavities inside it, or it is growing into or pressing against large blood vessels
  • You have had significant bleeding episodes — such as blood in your urine, digestive tract bleeding, or coughing up blood — within the last 6 months
  • You have had a blood clot event — such as a deep vein thrombosis (clot in the leg), pulmonary embolism (clot in the lung), or arterial clot — within the last 6 months
  • You have moderate or severe nerve damage in your hands or feet (confirm with trial site)
