Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 79 years old (male or female)
  • You are currently taking a medication called mesalamine (brand names include Asacol, Apriso, Canasa, Lialda, Pentasa, or Rowasa), either as a pill or a rectal treatment, as part of your regular care for inflammatory bowel disease
  • You are currently being treated with a biologic or immune-modifying medication such as Infliximab, Adalimumab, Certolizumab, Natalizumab, or azathioprine
  • You may also be taking steroids such as prednisone (10mg) or budesonide (9mg)
  • You have been on the same medication routine for at least 3 weeks before the study starts

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have had a heart attack, stroke, or cancer in the last 6 months
  • You have been hospitalized multiple times recently
  • You have been treated for any of the conditions listed above within the last 6 months (confirm with trial site)
  • You have had alcohol or substance abuse issues within the last 6 months
  • You currently smoke more than one pack of cigarettes per week
  • You have a history of seizures
  • You have liver or kidney problems
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have an allergy to mangos
  • You have Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, or HIV
  • You currently exercise more than 60 minutes a day, five or more times per week
  • You have lactose intolerance, gluten sensitivity, or celiac disease
  • You have an upcoming surgery related to your inflammatory bowel disease, or you have a narrowing of the intestine caused by inflammatory bowel disease
