Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease, confirmed through imaging, a camera procedure (such as a colonoscopy), or a tissue sample examination
- You are over 18 years old
- You are covered by French health insurance
- You had surgery less than 15 days ago to remove Crohn's disease affecting the small intestine, large intestine, or both, where all visible affected tissue was removed and the joined section can be reached by a camera procedure (colonoscopy)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have ulcerative colitis (a different type of bowel disease)
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are a woman who could become pregnant or a man who could father a child and are unwilling to use contraception during the trial
- Your doctor has recommended you take a type of medication called anti-TNF treatment
- You are currently taking certain medications, including antibiotics, probiotics, mesalazine, methotrexate, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, anti-TNF drugs, ustekinumab, or vedolizumab
- You are currently taking steroid medications, unless you are gradually reducing a course that was started before your surgery
- You have significant kidney problems (confirm with trial site)
- You have a chronic liver condition, except for a specific condition called primary sclerosing cholangitis
- You have abnormal liver function blood test results above a certain level (confirm with trial site)
- You currently have an active infection with HIV, hepatitis B (unless you have protective antibodies), or hepatitis C
- You have a medical reason why you cannot take a group of medicines called thiopurines
- You do not wish to take part in the trial
