Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with breast cancer

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have been assessed by an anesthesiologist as having serious health problems that make surgery higher risk (known as ASA Class III or IV — confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently pregnant
  • You are currently on your period (menstruating)
  • You are currently taking steroid medication
  • You have severe diabetes, shown by a blood sugar control reading (HbA1c) above 8%
  • You have taken opioid painkillers, sedatives, or other pain relief medication within one week before your mastectomy (breast removal surgery)
  • You have a history of alcohol or drug use (confirm with trial site for specific details)
  • You have a history of inner ear problems, or you have experienced severe nausea and vomiting after any surgery in the past
