Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), based on having irregular periods and signs (either from symptoms or blood tests) of higher-than-normal male hormone levels.
- You have not taken any hormonal treatments (such as birth control pills) or the medication metformin for at least 2 months before the study begins.
Who may not be able to join:
- Women whose hemoglobin (a measure of red blood cells in the blood) is below 11 g/dl at the initial screening appointment.
- Women who have a thyroid condition that is not currently being treated.
- Women who are pregnant.
- Women with a Body Mass Index (BMI) — a measure of body weight relative to height — above 37.
- Women who are known to have an allergy or sensitivity to the medication being used in this study (confirm with trial site).
