Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are an outpatient being seen by the thoracic (chest) surgery department at Peking Union Medical College Hospital
  • You are between 18 and 70 years old
  • You are suspected of having lung cancer
  • You have decided to have a planned (non-emergency) keyhole chest surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are unwilling or unable to take part in the study for any reason
  • You have been rated as having significant health problems based on a standard health scoring system used by doctors before surgery (confirm with trial site)
  • You are unable to take part in a preparation programme before surgery, which includes exercise guidance, whey protein supplements, and relaxation exercises
  • You have a serious heart or lung condition that would affect your ability to complete a standard 6-minute walking test
