Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a woman aged 18 or older
- You have been diagnosed with Stage IIIC ovarian cancer
- Your cancer is a specific type called high-grade serous carcinoma
- You meet one of these surgery/treatment situations: (1) you had primary surgery to remove the tumor and a small amount of visible tumor (1 cm or less) remained; OR (2) you had 3 rounds of chemotherapy before surgery, and surgery completely removed all visible tumor; OR (3) you had 3 rounds of chemotherapy before surgery, and a small amount of visible tumor (1 cm or less) remained after surgery
- You are generally well enough to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site)
- You are willing and able to attend all required follow-up visits for the study
- You are willing and able to sign a written consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- You are not expected to live longer than 3 months
- You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant during the study, or are currently breastfeeding
- You will be receiving chemotherapy delivered directly into the abdomen (rather than through a vein)
- You have previously had radiation therapy to your abdomen or pelvis
- You have serious ongoing health conditions, such as an active infection, heart failure, unstable chest pain, irregular heart rhythm, or a mental health or personal situation that would make it hard to follow the study requirements
- Cancer has spread to your brain
- Your ovarian cancer has come back after previous treatment
- Your surgery completely removed all visible tumor during your first (primary) surgery with nothing remaining
- More than 1 cm of visible tumor remained after your primary or interval surgery
- You are currently taking part in another clinical research study
- You have had another type of cancer in the past 5 years, other than a very early-stage cervical cancer or certain non-serious skin cancers
- You are known to have an allergic reaction to carboplatin or paclitaxel (common chemotherapy drugs)
- You are currently using other cancer-fighting treatments at the same time
