Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 36 years old and are having difficulty getting pregnant and are being considered for fertility treatment
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30
  • An ultrasound scan has shown that your ovaries have a polycystic appearance (at least 12 small follicles visible in each ovary), whether or not you have been given a full diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your ultrasound scan shows fewer than 24 small follicles in total across both ovaries
  • Your AMH level (a hormone measured by a blood test that reflects ovarian reserve) is below a certain threshold — the exact level depends on whether or not you are currently taking the contraceptive pill (confirm with trial site)
  • You and your partner need genetic testing of embryos before transfer (known as preimplantation genetic diagnosis or PGD)
  • Your male partner has been found to have no sperm in his semen due to a non-blockage-related cause (confirm with trial site)
