Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of cancer confirmed by lab testing — either epithelial ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer.
- Your cancer has stopped responding to platinum-based chemotherapy (known as "platinum resistant") and you have already tried at least two different chemotherapy treatments.
- Your cancer has continued to grow or spread despite your most recent treatment. Having previously received a drug called bevacizumab is allowed.
- Your cancer can be measured or tracked using scans or a specific blood test (CA-125).
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You are reasonably well and able to carry out daily activities (confirm with trial site regarding exact fitness level required).
- Your blood, liver, and kidney test results are within acceptable ranges, checked within 7 days before joining.
- A urine test shows only a low level of protein in your urine.
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had another cancer in the past 3 years, unless it was a type of skin cancer (basal cell or squamous cell) that was fully cured.
- You have taken part in another clinical trial or received experimental treatment within the last 28 days.
- Your cancer has grown into your intestines or major blood vessels, as judged by your doctor.
- You have another medical condition (such as diabetes or heart disease) that is not well managed or controlled.
- You have high blood pressure that remains above 150/100 even with blood pressure medication.
- You have had surgery or an open biopsy within the 4 weeks before starting treatment.
- You have had a stroke, mini-stroke (TIA), or bleeding around the brain within the past 6 months.
- You have significant heart problems, such as a heart attack or severe chest pain in the last 6 months, moderate-to-severe heart failure, a heart rhythm problem not controlled by medication, or serious problems with blood circulation in your limbs.
- You have a known allergy to the medications used in this trial.
- Your tumour is actively bleeding.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you could become pregnant, a negative pregnancy test before joining is required.
- You are able to have children but are unwilling to use effective contraception during the trial and for 6 months after treatment ends.
