Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are able to understand the trial procedures and any possible side effects, and you are willing to take part voluntarily
- You are between 18 and 45 years old (for Part 1 of the trial) or between 55 and 80 years old (for Part 2 of the trial) at the time of signing the consent form
- Your body weight is between 45 kg and 100 kg (roughly 99–220 lbs), and your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 19 and 32 at the time of screening
- You are generally in good health, with no significant medical problems, or any existing health conditions are considered unlikely to affect the study treatment (particularly for older participants)
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you agree to use effective birth control during the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a serious injury or surgery in the 6 months before screening
- Your liver-related blood test results (ALT, AST, or total bilirubin) are above a certain level at screening (confirm with trial site)
- Your heart's electrical activity, measured by an ECG, shows a reading that is too high (above 450ms for men or 470ms for women) (confirm with trial site)
- You have a known or suspected allergy to the study drug
- You have taken any medication — including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, herbal remedies, or supplements (except standard-dose vitamins or limited acetaminophen/paracetamol) — within the past 14 days or within 5 half-lives of the medication
- You have received a live or live-attenuated vaccine within 1 month before screening
- You have donated blood or lost more than 400 mL of blood in the past 3 months, or received a blood transfusion in the past 3 months
- You have had a problem with alcohol use in the past 12 months
- You have misused or been addicted to prescription or illegal drugs in the past 12 months
- You have smoked more than 5 cigarettes per day for the past 12 months
- You have taken part in another clinical trial involving an investigational drug or medical device in the past 3 months
- You work at the research centre or are directly involved in running this study
