Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a woman between 55 and 65 years old who has gone through menopause
- Your menopause started more than 2 years ago
- Your body mass index (BMI) — a measure of body weight relative to height — is between 35 and 39.9 (confirm with trial site if unsure of your BMI)
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently taking part in any weight loss program or treatment
- You are taking medication to lower your cholesterol or other blood fats
- You are regularly taking certain medications, including beta-blockers, alpha-blockers, digoxin, water tablets (diuretics), aspirin, nitrates, or hormone treatments
- You have an ongoing long-term illness such as rheumatoid arthritis, an overactive thyroid, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, or other unstable hormone-related conditions
- You have any difficulties with memory or thinking that might make it hard to take part in the study
- You have or have had a cancer diagnosis
- You have donated blood in the last 30 days
- You have taken part in any other study or research trial in the last 90 days
- You are a smoker
