NCT05152147

NCT05152147
Active, Not Recruiting Phase 3 🇦🇺 Australian site

Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with a specific type of stomach or esophageal cancer (called HER2-positive adenocarcinoma) that cannot be removed by surgery, has come back, or has spread — confirmed by lab testing of a tissue sample
  • If you have esophageal cancer specifically, you must not be a candidate for a combined chemotherapy and radiation treatment at the time of joining
  • Your cancer can be measured or tracked using standard imaging scans
  • Your general health and ability to carry out daily activities is rated as fully active or restricted only in physically strenuous activity (confirmed with trial site)
  • Your heart is pumping blood effectively, with a specific heart function score of 50% or higher, measured by a heart scan

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have previously received a treatment that specifically targets HER2, unless it was for breast cancer and was given more than 5 years before your current stomach or esophageal cancer diagnosis
  • You have previously received certain types of immunotherapy treatments that work on the immune system's "checkpoint" pathways
  • You have already received chemotherapy or other cancer-fighting drugs for this stomach or esophageal cancer in its advanced or spread form
  • You have cancer that has spread to the brain and is untreated, causing symptoms, or was treated with radiation within the last 4 weeks (stable, fully treated brain metastases with no steroids or anti-seizure medicines needed may still be eligible — confirm with trial site)
  • You have a history of or currently have cancer spread to the lining around the brain and spinal cord
  • You have another cancer that is not considered cured or has needed treatment in the past 3 years
  • You have an active hepatitis infection
  • You have any history of HIV infection
  • You currently have a confirmed COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) infection (those who have fully recovered may still be eligible — confirm with trial site)
  • You have a specific abnormality in your heart's electrical rhythm above a certain level, measured on a heart tracing (ECG) (confirm with trial site)
  • You have significant heart problems, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, certain heart rhythm problems, or a history of heart failure with symptoms
