Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS).
  • You must not have had an MS flare-up, and must not have taken steroid medications, in the 30 days before joining the study.
  • You must have internet access on a device larger than a smartphone — such as a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer — and have an email address.
  • You must be willing to complete all study tasks and be randomly assigned to a study group.
  • You must currently be doing little or no regular physical activity (assessed using a short questionnaire).
  • You must be able to walk without any assistive device (such as a cane or walker), with a low level of disability confirmed by a short scale.
  • You must not have fallen because of your MS in the past 6 months.
  • You must be between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You must score 18 or higher on a short phone-based memory and thinking test, showing you can follow instructions and engage with the study.
  • You must show a specific type of thinking/processing speed difficulty on a follow-up test done over video call (confirm with trial site).

Who may not be able to join:

  • You may not be eligible if you have uncontrolled major depression, or a history of certain other mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
  • You may not be eligible if you regularly take medications that can affect memory or thinking, such as antipsychotics or benzodiazepines (study staff will review your medications).
  • You may not be eligible if a standard safety questionnaire (PAR-Q) suggests you are at moderate or high risk of injury from intense exercise — specifically, if you answer "yes" to more than one question on this 7-item checklist.
