Back to Lung Cancer
NCT05401786
NCT05401786
Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has come back or continued to spread, regardless of the specific type of NSCLC.
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial.
- You still have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on a scan after receiving the targeted radiation treatment used in this study.
- You are willing to have a tissue sample (biopsy) taken from a tumor before treatment, and to have a second biopsy taken from a non-irradiated tumor after treatment begins.
- You are generally healthy and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (measured by a standard scale called ECOG, scored 0 or 1).
- Your lung cancer has spread to other parts of the body (Stage IV) and you have already been treated with a type of immunotherapy called PD-(L)1 blockade (checkpoint inhibitor).
- You have at least 2 separate areas of cancer — one that can receive targeted radiation and another that can be biopsied and measured on scans.
- Your liver, kidneys, and other organs are functioning well enough, confirmed by blood tests taken within 14 days of starting treatment.
- If you can become pregnant, you have tested negative for pregnancy within 72 hours before your first dose of study medication.
- If you can become pregnant, you are willing to use 2 forms of contraception, or are surgically sterile, or abstain from sex throughout the study and for 6 months after the last dose.
- If you are male, you agree to use adequate contraception from your first dose until 6 months after your last dose.
Who may not be able to join:
- Your lung cancer has a specific non-smoking-related gene mutation (such as EGFR, ALK, RET, or ROS1) that can be targeted with specific drugs (confirm with trial site for smoking-related mutations such as KRAS or BRAF).
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial or have used an experimental drug or device within the last 4 weeks.
- You are still experiencing significant side effects from a previous cancer treatment that have not returned to a mild or baseline level (with some exceptions — confirm with trial site).
- You have had major surgery within 14 days before the start of the study, or have not fully recovered from any previous surgery.
- You have had high-dose (radical) radiation to any tumor site within the last 3 months.
- You have previously been treated with certain other types of immunotherapy drugs that target the immune system in ways other than PD-(L)1 blockade (for example, anti-CTLA-4 or anti-CD137 drugs).
- You have brain or nervous system cancer spread (metastases) that are causing symptoms, are larger than 2 cm, have significant swelling around them on an MRI scan, or have spread to the lining of the brain.
- You have another active cancer that is growing or currently being treated.
- You have a serious autoimmune disease (where the immune system attacks the body) that requires ongoing treatment with steroids or immune-suppressing medications (confirm with trial site, as some exceptions may apply).
- You have active or symptomatic lung inflammation (interstitial lung disease or pneumonitis) that is not caused by infection.
- You have an active infection that requires treatment through your bloodstream (e.g., IV antibiotics).
Important: Always verify eligibility with the trial site directly before applying.
Based on publicly available eligibility criteria from ClinicalTrials.gov. Verify directly with the trial site before acting. This is not medical advice.
Phase 2: approximately ~30% of drugs entering this phase reach regulatory approval, based on published industry-wide historical data. This is not specific to this trial.
