Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years old or older.
- You must have a type of ovarian cancer that cannot be removed by surgery straight away and requires chemotherapy both before and after surgery.
- You must be planned to receive a specific chemotherapy treatment (carboplatin and taxol, given every 3 weeks) and have your surgery at Institut Bergonié.
- You must not be significantly underweight or malnourished — meaning you have not lost more than 10% of your body weight in the last 6 months.
- You must be willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.
- You must have French social security cover, in line with French public health regulations.
Who may not be able to join:
- You cannot take part if you are unable to have a CT scan for medical reasons.
- You cannot take part if you are unable to have a bone density scan for medical reasons.
- If you are over 70 and a screening assessment suggests you need specialist elderly cancer care, you may not be eligible (confirm with trial site).
- You cannot take part if you are under legal guardianship or any other form of legal protection.
- You cannot take part if personal, social, or geographical circumstances mean you would not be able to attend follow-up visits and complete the study procedures.
- You cannot take part if you are already enrolled in this study or in another study looking at muscle loss (sarcopenia).

Proportion of patients with pretreatment sarcopenia identified by analysis of the baseline CT-scan (CT0).
