Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

As a healthy volunteer:

  • You are between 18 and 40 years old
  • You are able to follow instructions and participate, as assessed by the lead researcher
  • You are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part

As a patient with Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB):

  • You have been diagnosed with probable DLB or mild cognitive impairment related to Lewy body disease
  • You are over 50 years old
  • You are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
  • You are able to follow instructions and participate, as assessed by the lead researcher
  • You have mild cognitive impairment, mild, or moderate dementia, and score above 18 on a standard memory and thinking test (MMSE)

As a patient with Alzheimer's disease (AD):

  • You have been diagnosed with probable Alzheimer's disease or mild cognitive impairment related to Alzheimer's disease
  • You are over 50 years old
  • You are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
  • You are able to follow instructions and participate, as assessed by the lead researcher
  • You have mild cognitive impairment, mild, or moderate dementia, and score above 18 on a standard memory and thinking test (MMSE)

Who may not be able to join:

Healthy volunteers:

  • You show signs of a neurological or psychiatric condition
  • A close family member has a known inherited brain-degenerating disease

Patients with DLB:

  • You are unable to understand or sign a consent form
  • You currently misuse alcohol or drugs
  • You have a terminal illness
  • You have been diagnosed with a major neurological or psychiatric condition other than DLB

Patients with Alzheimer's disease:

  • You are unable to understand or sign a consent form
  • You currently misuse alcohol or drugs
  • You have a terminal illness
  • You have been diagnosed with a major neurological or psychiatric condition other than Alzheimer's disease
