Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- Your BMI (body mass index) is over 25 and under 45 (confirm with trial site, as the upper limit may contain a typo in the original criteria)
- You are between 18 and 45 years old
- You have at least two of the following: irregular or infrequent periods; excess body or facial hair, or higher than normal male hormone levels; or cysts on the ovaries seen on an internal ultrasound
- Other conditions that could explain your symptoms have been ruled out by a doctor
Who may not be able to join:
- You have gone through menopause
- You have diabetes
- You have or have had an eating disorder
- You have a psychiatric (mental health) disorder
- You are currently taking the contraceptive pill or a medication called metformin
- You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the treatment period
- You are not of Caucasian (white European) ethnic background
- You have epilepsy
- You are allergic to the medication being used in the trial
