Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are 18 years old or older.
• You are planning to receive, or are already receiving, a longer course of radiation therapy aimed at curing your cancer (this includes radiation given before surgery, after surgery, or as the main treatment).
• Your radiation treatment must involve more than 10 sessions total (if you haven't started yet), or more than 15 remaining sessions after you agree to join the study (if you've already started).
• You are willing to receive your radiation therapy at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
• You have at least one unmet basic need, such as difficulty affording food, getting transportation, stable housing, paying utility bills, childcare, or other financial struggles.
• You are willing to be referred to and meet with a social worker.
• After meeting with a social worker, it is determined that your basic needs cannot be fully resolved through standard available help.
• You are able to understand and willing to sign a consent form (a family member or legal representative may sign on your behalf if needed).

Who may not be able to join:

• Your first radiation planning appointment (called a simulation) is scheduled more than 28 days after you would sign the consent form.
• You are currently in the hospital and are not expected to have more than 10 radiation sessions as an outpatient.
• You are being treated for anaplastic thyroid cancer, as this type of cancer can make it difficult to complete the full course of radiation therapy.
