Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a female teenager between the ages of 13 and 19
- You got your first period at least 2 years before joining the study
- (For the PCOS group) You have been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), meaning you have irregular periods and signs of higher-than-normal male hormones (either from symptoms or a blood test)
- (For the Control/comparison group) You have regular periods that come every 21 to 35 days, and you do NOT have signs of higher-than-normal male hormones
Who may not be able to join:
- You have taken any medications in the past 6 months that affect vitamin D, blood sugar sensitivity, or hormone levels — for example, birth control pills, insulin-related medications, or vitamin D supplements
- You have a hormonal or gland-related condition such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia, high prolactin levels, Cushing's syndrome, or a thyroid problem
- You have a long-term illness affecting your whole body, such as diabetes, or serious liver or kidney disease

Serum 25(OH)D Level at Baseline; Body Mass Index (BMI) at Baseline; HOMA-IR Value at Baseline; Serum Lipid Profile at Baseline; Visceral Adipose Tissue Thickness, Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue Thickness
