Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are a woman between 18 and 40 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), confirmed by having at least two of the following: irregular or absent periods, higher-than-normal male hormones, or cysts on the ovaries seen on an ultrasound
  • Your body weight falls within a healthy or above-healthy range (BMI of 18.5 or higher)
  • You are willing to take part and sign a consent form agreeing to join the study
  • You are willing to follow the study's requirements and attend all follow-up appointments

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have been diagnosed with diabetes, a thyroid condition, high prolactin levels, Cushing's syndrome, or any other hormone-related disorder
  • You have taken metformin, inositol, hormone treatments, or weight-loss medications in the last 3 months
  • You have a history of kidney, liver, or heart disease
  • You have a known allergy or sensitivity to metformin or inositol
  • You have taken part in another clinical trial within the last 3 months
  • You have a serious physical or mental health condition that the trial doctor believes could affect your ability to take part (confirm with trial site)
