Each row is one registered product, so the same medicine can appear more than once. At real weekly volumes a list bounded to the last seven days would usually hold a single entry, which is why this is a fixed five rather than a week.

A record is one product, not one medicine, so the report counts above run higher than the number of medicines affected

Each record is one product entry on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods, so a single medicine can appear several times over — once per brand, strength or dose form the supplier has reported. Neither figure says how many people are affected, which the TGA does not publish. This is national information. The TGA records shortages for Australia as a whole. There is no state, territory or pharmacy-level stock information in this data, and Voxsanity cannot tell you whether a particular pharmacy has a medicine in stock. Your pharmacist can.

Choosing a condition narrows the list to medicines the PBS subsidises for it that the TGA has a shortage record for. A medicine the PBS does not subsidise, one the TGA lists under an ingredient name we cannot match, and one used for the condition but subsidised under a different indication are all missing. It says the shortage and the PBS listing are both real, not that the shortage was caused by the condition or that it will affect you.
