Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are in good enough physical health to undergo surgery, as assessed at a pre-surgery medical check (with a fitness score of 0 or 1 on a standard medical scale)
- People who have been confirmed through a tissue biopsy to have stomach cancer of a specific type called adenocarcinoma
- People whose cancer has not spread to distant parts of the body or grown in a way that makes surgery impossible, as confirmed by scans and/or imaging

- People who have already completed at least one round of chemotherapy given before surgery (neoadjuvant chemotherapy)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had or currently have another type of cancer in addition to their stomach cancer
- People whose cancer primarily involves the oesophagus (food pipe) and extends down into the stomach
- People in whom cancer that has spread to the liver or other distant sites is found during exploratory surgery
- People whose cancer has grown extensively around a key area near the liver (called the porta hepatis) in a way that would prevent surgeons from fully removing the cancer
- People who have not given their consent to participate in the trial
