"Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been struggling to get pregnant, whether for the first time or after a previous pregnancy.
- Your doctor has recommended IVF (in vitro fertilisation) as a fertility treatment for you.
- You have ongoing pain related to endometriosis that has not improved with pain relief medication.
- Your ongoing pain includes at least one of these bowel-related symptoms caused by endometriosis: pain when having a bowel movement, difficulty passing stools, episodes where your bowel feels blocked, or rectal bleeding.
- You have a form of endometriosis that has grown deeply into the bowel area (colorectal region), confirmed by MRI scan and at least one other scan or investigation such as a vaginal ultrasound, a CT scan of the colon and rectum, or an internal ultrasound via the rectum.
- Your doctors have decided that you are suitable for surgery to treat this deep form of endometriosis.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a medical reason why pregnancy or IVF would not be safe for you.
- You have certain viral infections that may affect eligibility (confirm with trial site).
- You have previously had an IVF treatment cycle.
- You have previously had surgery on your bowel or colon.
- You would also need surgery to remove fibroids (non-cancerous growths in the womb) at the same time as the endometriosis surgery.
- You would need to use donated eggs rather than your own for IVF.
