Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have confirmed, documented damage to your retina or optic nerve that is unlikely to get better on its own, OR you have damage that is getting worse over time along with reduced vision (20/30 or worse) and/or an abnormal visual field test in one or both eyes.
- If you have had eye surgery, it must have been at least 3 months ago and your condition must be stable since then.
- If you are currently taking medication for a retina or optic nerve condition, your condition must be considered stable on that medication with little chance of your vision improving on its own (for example, glaucoma where eye pressure is controlled by eye drops but some vision damage has already occurred).
- Your doctor believes you could potentially benefit from this stem cell treatment and that the procedure would pose minimal risk to you.
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You are in generally good health and your primary care doctor or healthcare provider is able to confirm that you can safely undergo the procedure without significant risk to your health.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable to have a proper eye examination to document their eye condition.
- People who are unable or unwilling to attend follow-up eye appointments with the study doctor or their own eye doctor as required by the study.
- People who are not able to give their own informed consent to take part in the trial.
- People for whom the procedure could pose a significant risk to their general health or to their eyes and vision.
