Who might be able to join this trial:
- People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 25 and 30 (considered overweight)
- People with a BMI of 30 or higher who also have metabolic syndrome (a cluster of conditions such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and abnormal cholesterol levels)
- People with a BMI of 35 or higher (considered severely obese)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have other types of liver disease (apart from what is being studied in this trial)
- People who are currently taking medications known to affect the amount of fat in the liver
- People whose waist measurement is 150 cm (about 59 inches) or more
- People who weigh 250 kg (about 551 pounds) or more
- People who are unable to have an MRI scan for any medical reason (such as having a pacemaker or metal implants) (confirm with trial site)
