Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 75 years old
- People who have been confirmed by tissue testing to have primary stomach cancer (adenocarcinoma) at stage II
- People who have had surgery that removed all visible cancer (R0 surgery) along with removal of nearby lymph nodes
- People who have no other cancers present
- People whose general health is rated as 0 or 1 on the ECOG scale (meaning largely or fully able to carry out daily activities), and who are expected to live more than 6 months
- People whose blood counts, liver, kidney function, and heart trace (ECG) are within acceptable ranges (confirm with trial site for specific values)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or who are unwilling to use contraception during chemotherapy
- People whose stomach cancer is staged at I, III, or IV
- People who were not able to have all cancer removed by surgery (R0 resection) or did not have a full D2 lymph node removal
- People who have other serious uncontrolled conditions, such as other cancers or active infections
- People with serious heart conditions, including heart failure, uncontrolled irregular heartbeat, unstable chest pain, previous heart attack, severe heart valve disease, or very high blood pressure that cannot be controlled
- People with a known or suspected history of drug allergies (confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently receiving other cancer treatments, including anti-cancer drugs, biological therapy, radiation, or immune-suppressing therapy within 4 weeks of joining
- People who have had an organ transplant, require long-term immune-suppressing medication, or have an autoimmune disease
- People whom the researchers believe would not be able to complete the full course of the trial
