Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People with serious liver disease (such as cirrhosis), kidney disease, breathing problems, or poorly controlled diabetes or high blood pressure, or heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, difficult-to-control irregular heartbeat, a heart attack within the past 6 months, or heart insufficiency
  • People who have had an organ transplant and require immune-suppressing medications
  • People with severe or uncontrolled recurring infections, or other serious ongoing illnesses
  • People who have had a different type of cancer (other than stomach cancer) within the past 5 years, excluding certain easily treatable skin cancers or early-stage cervical cancer
  • People who have a psychiatric illness that requires treatment
  • People who have any history of organ transplantation
  • People who have participated in another clinical trial within the 6 months before this study begins, or who are participating in another trial at the same time
  • People whose stomach cancer has spread to involve the fatty tissue surrounding the stomach (omentum)
  • People who are unable to receive XELOX chemotherapy after surgery
  • People whose tumour type is classified as Borrmann IV (confirm with trial site)
  • People whose cancer has grown into surrounding organs (classified as T4b) or has spread to distant parts of the body (M1)
  • People whose tumour involves the greater curvature of the stomach
