- You have a cancer that started in the bile ducts, colon, liver, pancreas, peritoneum (lining of the abdomen), rectum, small intestine, or stomach, and there are no plans to surgically remove the tumor during the study
- Your cancer can be one of several types, including adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, neuroendocrine tumors, or tumors from connective tissue (confirm with trial site if unsure about your specific type)
- You have significant stomach or abdominal pain related to your cancer, measured by a standard pain questionnaire called the NIH PROMIS GI Pain Scale, with a score at least 5 points above the national average
- You are able to read and write in English
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a condition that would make it unsafe or impossible to use a Virtual Reality (VR) headset, such as a history of seizures, an injury to your face, or significant vision problems
- You have a level of cognitive (thinking or memory) difficulty that would prevent you from fully taking part in the study — this will be checked during an initial phone call
- Your cancer has spread to your brain
- Your doctor estimates your life expectancy to be less than 3 months at the time of joining the trial
