Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 40 years old, and either have typical brain development or have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
- You are able to take part in brain wave (EEG) and eye-tracking tests.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a serious head injury or a significant brain illness.
- You have a major mental health condition that would make it difficult to complete the study tasks.
- You have a history of serious medical illness, stroke, seizures, abnormal brain wave patterns, or a family history of seizures.
- You are currently taking prescription medications that may affect thinking, memory, or other brain processes being studied.
- You have consumed alcohol or recreational drugs in the 24 hours before the study visit.
- You are pregnant, suspected to be pregnant, or test positive on a pregnancy test (applies to females).
- You have a history of working with metal materials or have ever had a metal fragment or shrapnel injury to your body.
- You have previously received TMS (a type of brain stimulation) therapy, or have taken part in a study using an experimental drug within the last 12 weeks.
- Your IQ score is below 80.
