Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are over 20 years old and were born after 1987
- You were born in Taiwan and received at least 3 doses of the hepatitis B vaccine as a baby
- Your blood test shows no signs of current or past hepatitis B infection (both surface antibody and surface antigen tests came back negative)
- You have reported (by questionnaire) that you did not receive any hepatitis B vaccines during childhood or teenage years
- You are willing to receive 1 or 2 doses of the hepatitis B vaccine as part of the trial, after discussing and agreeing to the process
- You are generally in good health
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had an allergic reaction to a hepatitis B vaccine in the past, or are allergic to any of its ingredients (such as yeast)
- You did receive hepatitis B vaccines during your childhood or teenage years
- Your blood test shows that you already have protection against hepatitis B (positive surface antibody), or that you currently have a hepatitis B infection (positive surface antigen)
