Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 18 and 80 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with coronary artery disease (a condition affecting the heart's blood vessels)
- People diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, based on one of the following: a HbA1c (average blood sugar) result of 6.5% or higher, a fasting blood sugar level of 7.0 mmol/L or higher (confirmed by repeat testing), a blood sugar level of 11.1 mmol/L or higher during a specific sugar-drink test (OGTT), or already taking medication to lower blood sugar

Who may not be able to join:
- People with severe liver failure (classified as Child-Pugh grade B or C — confirm with trial site)
- People with severe anemia, where hemoglobin levels are below 60g/L (very low red blood cell levels)
- People with familial hypercholesterolemia (an inherited condition causing very high cholesterol)
- People with an active cancer diagnosis
- People with active autoimmune diseases who are currently being treated with corticosteroid medications
- People with an active infection, whether short-term or long-lasting
- People whose life expectancy is estimated to be less than one year
