  • You have been diagnosed with a locally advanced cancer (adenocarcinoma) of the stomach or the area where the stomach meets the food pipe (esophagogastric junction), and it has not spread to distant parts of the body

  • You have never had surgery to remove your stomach or received chemotherapy before

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your cancer has spread to distant parts of the body, or it has grown into nearby organs that cannot be removed by surgery
  • You have a known allergy or medical reason that prevents you from taking certain chemotherapy drugs used in this trial (Capecitabine, 5-FU, Leucovorin, Oxaliplatin, or Docetaxel)
  • You have a significant heart condition, such as serious heart disease or heart failure
  • You have moderate or severe nerve damage in your hands or feet (such as numbness, tingling, or pain)
  • You have significant liver problems, shown by abnormal liver function in blood tests
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have been diagnosed with another cancer within the last 5 years (with some exceptions for certain minor skin cancers or early-stage cervical changes — confirm with trial site)
  • You have a serious uncontrolled infection or another severe medical condition
